Teucrium chamaedrys ‘Summer Sunshine’
Teucrium chamaedrys 'Summer Sunshine' (often sold as Teucrium x lucidrys 'Summer Sunshine') is a vibrant, low-growing evergreen sub-shrub prized for its striking golden-yellow variegated foliage and classic Wall Germander form. This sport of the beloved *Teucrium chamaedrys* features small, oval, scalloped, opposite leaves that are bright green splashed with creamy-gold to golden-yellow margins, with the brightest coloration appearing in full sun. The leaves release a pleasant, herbaceous scent when brushed. In summer, it produces short spikes of small, two-lipped, tubular, pale pink to lavender-pink flowers, which are attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. With its compact, mounding, upright habit, excellent drought tolerance, and vibrant, year-round color, it is an outstanding choice for low hedges, knot gardens, border edging, rock gardens, containers, and as a colorful ground cover.
