Elegant Water Gum
Tristania laurina ‘Elegant’,
The Elegant Water Gum is a graceful, slender evergreen tree perfect for narrower spaces. Its glossy, aromatic laurel-like leaves, smooth mottled bark, and clusters of small yellow flowers give it a refined appearance. While it appreciates regular moisture, it is surprisingly drought-tolerant once established and is a superb choice for a patio, street, or courtyard tree.
-
Boasts very attractive, glossy, dark green lance-shaped leaves that are fragrant when crushed, on a tree with a naturally narrow, upright form.
-
Features beautiful smooth bark that flakes in patches to reveal shades of cream, gray, and brown, adding textural interest.
-
Produces small but charming clusters of fluffy, honey-scented yellow flowers in summer that attract pollinators.
-
More tolerant of regular garden watering and even periodic wet feet than many other Australian natives, yet becomes quite drought-adapted with age.
-
Its slow growth and manageable size make it an ideal, elegant specimen for residential gardens.
