Blue Hill Meadow Sage
Salvia nemorosa ‘Blue Hills’
Salvia x sylvestris 'Blue Hill' (also known as 'Blauhügel', meaning "Blue Hill" in German) is a classic, award-winning perennial sage prized for its long-lasting spikes of true, vibrant blue flowers and its compact, neat habit. This hybrid wood sage forms a tidy, clumping mound of aromatic, gray-green foliage. From early summer through fall, it produces dense, upright racemes of small, two-lipped, deep violet-blue flowers that are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Exceptionally hardy, drought-tolerant once established, deer and rabbit resistant, and low-maintenance, it is an outstanding choice for sunny borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, containers, and pollinator-friendly landscapes.
