Horizon Monarch Rhododendron
Rhododendron ‘Horizon Monarch’
Rhododendron 'Horizon Monarch' is an award-winning evergreen shrub prized for its spectacular trusses of soft yellow flowers, dark pink to scarlet buds, and exceptional disease resistance. This vigorous, medium-sized hybrid produces large, dome-shaped clusters of up to 15 openly funnel-shaped flowers in a pale, warm, creamy yellow to light yellow, each with a small, vivid red flare and delicate pink tones on the outside, blooming from late spring to early summer (May to June) . The dark pink to scarlet flower buds provide a striking contrast before opening to the soft, luminous blooms. With its dense, upright, spreading habit, leathery, dark green, elliptic leaves, and outstanding hardiness, it is an excellent choice for foundation plantings, woodland gardens, shaded borders, informal hedges, and as a specimen plant. Winner of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit (AGM) .
