Mexican Grass Tree
Dasylirion longissimum
Mexican Grass Tree is a breathtaking, sculptural plant that resembles a giant, spherical fountain of fine-textured grass. Thousands of long, slender, quadrangular (four-sided), deep green leaves radiate from a central, woody trunk, creating a perfectly symmetrical, globe-like form. Mature specimens can eventually produce a tall, dramatic flower spike. Incredibly slow-growing and drought-tolerant, it makes an unparalleled architectural statement and is a living sculpture for modern, minimalist, or desert-inspired landscapes.
