Island Pink Yarrow
Achillea millefolium ‘New Vintage’
Achillea millefolium 'Island Pink' is a charming, California native selection of the common yarrow, prized for its profuse, long-lasting clusters of soft pink flowers and its fern-like, aromatic, gray-green foliage. This vigorous, self-sowing perennial forms a spreading clump of finely dissected leaves that release a pleasant, herbal fragrance when brushed. From late spring through summer, it produces tall, sturdy, flat-topped flower stalks bearing large corymbs of small, daisy-like blooms in a lovely, soft pink hue, creating a delicate, airy display that is a magnet for butterflies, bees, and other beneficial pollinators. Exceptionally drought, heat, and wind tolerant, and highly adaptable to poor soils, it is an outstanding choice for wildflower meadows, native plant gardens, coastal plantings, slopes, and water-wise landscapes.
