Yellow Sun Red Yucca
Hesperaloe parviflora ‘Yellow Sun’
Hesperaloe parviflora 'Yellow Sun' is a stunning, evergreen perennial prized for its tall spikes of soft, buttery yellow, tubular flowers and its fountain-like clumps of narrow, leathery, gray-green leaves edged with curling white fibers. A yellow-flowered cultivar of the classic Red Yucca, this drought-tolerant succulent forms a dense, spineless rosette that provides bold, architectural interest in the landscape. From late spring through summer, and often into fall, it produces branching stalks bearing an abundance of bell-shaped, hummingbird-attracting flowers in a delicate, creamy-yellow to soft golden-yellow hue. Exceptionally heat and cold tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant, and low-maintenance, it is an outstanding choice for xeriscape gardens, rock gardens, desert landscapes, mass plantings, and large containers.
