All Gold Japanese Forest Grass
Hakonechloa macra ‘All Gold’
All Gold Japanese Forest Grass is a breathtaking ornamental grass that forms a cascading fountain of pure, luminous gold. Its slender, arching blades hold their brilliant chartreuse to golden-yellow color throughout the growing season, especially in partial shade. Slow-growing and elegant, it creates a stunning, glowing focal point that brightens up dark corners, woodland gardens, or shaded containers. In fall, the foliage may take on subtle orange or red hints before going dormant in cold climates.
-
Luminous Golden-Yellow Foliage: Features a solid, bright golden-yellow color that illuminates shady areas all season long.
-
Graceful, Cascading Habit: Grows in a dense, mounding clump with leaves that arch gracefully like a flowing waterfall.
-
Thrives in Partial to Full Shade: Performs best in shade or filtered light; too much hot sun can scorch the delicate leaves.
-
Slow-Growing & Low-Maintenance: Forms a perfect, manageable clump that requires no dividing for many years. Simply cut back old foliage in late winter.
-
Ideal for Shade Accent & Containers: A premier plant for adding light, texture, and movement to shaded borders, Japanese-style gardens, or patio pots.
