Biokovo Cranesbill
Geranium cantabrigiense ‘Biokovo’
Geranium x cantabrigiense 'Biokovo' is an award-winning, semi-evergreen perennial ground cover prized for its delicate white-pink flowers, attractive glossy foliage, and spectacular orange-red fall color. Named the 2015 Perennial Plant of the Year, this vigorous, spreading plant forms a dense, weed-suppressing mat of small, rounded, lobed, glossy, medium green leaves that remain attractive through the season. From late spring through midsummer, it produces an abundance of small, saucer-shaped, white flowers with soft pink bases and prominent, contrasting pink stamens, creating a delicate, airy display that attracts butterflies and other pollinators. In autumn, the foliage turns brilliant shades of orange, red, and burgundy, extending the season of interest. Exceptionally drought-tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant, and adaptable to a range of conditions, it is an outstanding choice for ground cover, rock gardens, slopes, borders, and as a lawn alternative.
