Compact Escallonia
Escallonia ‘Compacta’ , Escallonia ‘Newport Dwarf’
Compact Escallonia is a superb, low-maintenance evergreen shrub prized for its dense, rounded habit and reliable, long-lasting blooms. This dwarf selection forms a tidy mound of small, glossy, bright green leaves that provides year-round structure and color. From spring through fall, it produces an abundance of small, tubular, rose-pink to red-pink flowers in clusters, which are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators . Tolerant of salt spray, wind, and poor soils, it is an excellent choice for coastal gardens, low hedges, foundation plantings, and mixed borders.
