Golden Falls Weeping Eastern Redbud
Cercis canadensis ‘Golden Falls’
Cercis canadensis 'Golden Falls' is a stunning, small deciduous tree prized for its unique weeping form and striking golden-yellow heart-shaped foliage. This compact cultivar features gracefully cascading branches that create a dramatic, waterfall-like effect. In early spring, before the leaves emerge, the bare, pendulous branches are covered in clusters of small, pea-like, lavender-pink flowers that attract bees and hummingbirds. The flowers are followed by heart-shaped leaves that emerge bright green-yellow and mature to a luminous, eye-catching lime-gold to golden-yellow throughout the summer. With excellent resistance to leaf scorch, good drought tolerance once established, and its manageable size, it is an outstanding choice for a specimen accent in small gardens, courtyard plantings, near water features, or in containers.
