Lemon Bottlebrush
Callistemon citrinus
Lemon Bottlebrush is a classic, fast-growing evergreen shrub or small tree renowned for its spectacular, bright red, brush-like flower spikes and fragrant lemon-scented foliage. When crushed, its narrow, stiff leaves release a strong citrus aroma. It blooms heavily in spring and sporadically throughout the year, with the crimson flower "bottles" tipped with yellow stamens, creating a vibrant display that is highly attractive to hummingbirds and bees. Tough, drought-tolerant, and adaptable, it is a staple for water-wise and wildlife gardens, serving well as a screen, specimen, or street tree.
