Goldmarie Carpet Tickseed
Bidens ferulifolia ‘Goldmarie’
Bidens ferulifolia 'Goldmarie' is a vigorous, mat-forming perennial prized for its non-stop display of bright yellow, star-shaped flowers and finely dissected, fern-like bright green foliage. This heat-loving plant forms a dense, trailing, carpet-like mound of aromatic, feathery leaves that are soft to the touch. From late spring through summer and into fall, and even year-round in frost-free climates, it produces an abundance of small, daisy-like, golden-yellow flowers that cover the plant, creating a cheerful, sunny carpet that attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators . Extremely heat and drought tolerant, self-cleaning (no deadheading needed), and fast-growing, it is an outstanding choice for ground cover, hanging baskets, containers, window boxes, borders, rock gardens, and as a "spiller" in mixed plantings.
