St. Helena Manzanita
Arctostaphylos manzanita ‘St. Helena’
Arctostaphylos manzanita 'St. Helena' is a striking, tall evergreen shrub prized for its smooth, mahogany-red bark, upright branching habit, and attractive gray-green foliage. This California native forms a dramatic, sculptural specimen that provides year-round interest in the garden. In winter, it produces clusters of pale pink, urn-shaped flowers that are highly attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and other native pollinators. These are followed by small, red, berry-like fruits that provide food for birds and other wildlife. Exceptionally drought-tolerant and deer-resistant, it performs best with excellent drainage and minimal summer irrigation once established. An outstanding choice as a specimen plant, dry screen, or structural native planting.
