Agapanthus ‘Elaine’
Agapanthus 'Elaine' is a striking, evergreen perennial prized for its large, rounded clusters of vivid, violet-blue, funnel-shaped flowers and its lush, fountain-like clumps of arching, strap-shaped, deep green leaves. This vigorous, semi-dwarf hybrid produces tall, sturdy scapes (flower stems) rising 3-4 feet above the foliage in mid to late summer, bearing showy, 6-8 inch wide umbels of bright, blue-violet blooms with a subtle, darker stripe down each petal, creating a spectacular display that attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Exceptionally drought-tolerant once established, deer resistant, and adaptable to a range of well-drained soils, it is an outstanding choice for borders, mass plantings, containers, coastal gardens, and as a striking accent in Mediterranean and water-wise landscapes.
